Russell High Class of 1959
home of the wildcats
After Russell High, I went to Emory University, earning a BA in Mathematics. I was employed immediately by RCA Missile Test Project at Patrick Air Force Base near Cocoa Beach, FL, where I met and married Raymond Johnson. We lived at Cape Canaveral for a couple of years, then started a family and moved to Jacksonville, FL, where I began teaching. Eventually we settled down in Kermit, West Virginia, where I got my MA in Secondary Education at Marshall University and continued to teach high school math. My husband has been in law enforcement for a number of years.
We have also owned and operated a small recording studio, J Sound Recording, for about twenty years. We record various gospel, bluegrass, or country groups and we can also publish and duplicate their products.
We have three children, Rhonda, Janet, and Roger and three granddaughters, Lyndsey, Stephanie, and Railey. My children and my grandchildren are the loves of my life.
I retired from teaching in 2003 after 38 years, and I'm enjoying our own kids now.
By the way, I'm still the youngest one in Russell High Class of 1959!!!
